Click-to-Call: The 20-Minute Change That Lifts Trade Website Conversions 25%

July 2, 2026 · 3 min read

Across the trade sites we've audited in Halifax, adding a sticky click-to-call bar on mobile has never failed to lift conversions — and the lift is usually 20–30%. It is the highest ROI change you can make to a trade website, and it takes about twenty minutes to implement.

Why it works

Seventy-plus percent of trade searches happen on a phone, and the buyer is usually in a hurry — a burst pipe, a dead furnace, a storm-damaged roof. Any friction between 'I want to call' and 'the phone is dialing' is friction against your revenue. A persistent bar removes every ounce of that friction.

How to do it without wrecking the design

Keep it slim (48–56 pixels tall), give it a solid background, add a tiny phone icon, and pair it with a secondary 'Quote' button for buyers who prefer typing. Hide it on desktop and inside forms. Match your brand accent colour so it feels intentional, not bolted-on.

Measure it

Wire the bar to a Google Ads conversion or a GA4 event so you can prove the lift. Once you see the numbers, you'll never launch a trade site without one again.
