Halifax Web Design for Trades: What Actually Books Jobs in 2026

July 15, 2026 · 6 min read

Every week we audit websites for Halifax roofers, plumbers, electricians, and landscapers. Ninety percent of them share the same five mistakes — and fixing any two of them typically doubles inbound leads inside a quarter. Here's what actually moves the needle for trades in the HRM.

1. One primary call-to-action, not five

The average trade site we audit has a 'Call', a 'Quote', a 'Book', a 'Contact', and a 'Learn more' button competing on the homepage. Visitors freeze. Pick the action that closes the most jobs (usually a quote request with a phone number as fallback) and demote everything else.

2. Click-to-call on mobile, always

Seventy-plus percent of trade searches happen on a phone. A sticky click-to-call bar at the bottom of the viewport routinely lifts conversion 20–30% on its own. It is the single cheapest change you can make.

3. Neighbourhood pages, not one generic 'Service Areas' page

Google's local pack rewards specificity. A dedicated page for 'Roofing in Bedford' ranks separately from 'Roofing in Halifax' and captures the exact search intent of someone looking down their own street.

4. Real photos of your real work

Stock photos kill trust for tradespeople faster than anything else. Take twenty phone photos on your next job, hand them to your web team, and watch quote requests climb.

5. Google Business Profile alignment

Your website's schema, NAP (name/address/phone), and service areas need to match your Google Business Profile exactly. When they don't, Google quietly ranks you lower — and you'll never see a notification about it.
